Toasty New Year

Each New Year’s Eve we celebrate by having a dinner party with friends, but over the last couple of years, with the acquisition of a ramshackle farmhouse in the Catskills, a new tradition has evolved. As the clock nears midnight, we and all of our guests pull on our winter boots and coats and head out for a walk. My husband Mark equips us each with a candle-lit lantern, and out we go, through the snow to the barn, where we toast the New Year with copious amounts of champagne (well, it will be Cava to say farewell to 2009). Perhaps this year I will be singing Auld Lang Syne while keeping toasty in a Moncler S jacket? We’ll have to see – I was lucky enough to get the Sacai parka I had been coveting all season long – but perhaps some other soul will need something to bundle up in for their own march into 2010, and be fortunate enough to get a hold of one. – Molly Nutter, BNY Private Label, Designer Collections, Lingerie

Dear Molly, such a nice story to tell. Such a surprise to find a new writer on your web site. Me and my family do almost the same here in the north of Italy. Next new year’s eve i’ll think of you!
